Meet 1 - AWAY at YMCA - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Good morning Parents,
Below you will find the information for tomorrow's meet. Just a couple of reminders.......we are one of 3 teams at this meet. The other 2 teams are significantly smaller than ours. Please be respectful to both the host team and the other team that we are swimming against. We pride ourselves on our sportsmanship and hospitality both at home and away meets. This was recognized last year with the Margaret Gilbert Award at the County Meet. We do hold our team to a higher standard, so please help us continue to do so this year.
I have attached the entries for this meet. Please review them to ensure that you know what your child is swimming. Please note that these cannot be changed. The meet is seeded. In the case that the host team sends out heat sheets, we will send those out to the team. I am not sure if they are selling them or sending them via email.
I would also like to remind you that the board is made up of volunteers. None of us are paid. We do our very best to ensure that you and your swimmers have the best experience possible. We only call practice when absolutely necessary, and we do wait until at least 30 minutes prior to practice to make the decision. We always want to have our practice! I know that many of you have been reaching out to me via email, and that is totally fine! Please note that I do have a full-time job, and it does take some time for me to be able to get back to you. The best times to talk to me are Tuesdays and Thursdays at practice. I'm happy to answer all of your questions there!
This Thursday, May 28th, the YMCA Dolphins we will be hosting a tri-meet against North Forke Barracudas, and Eastmont Cove Olympians.
Meet Location:
2985 Sugarloaf Pkwy
Lawrenceville, GA 30045
Arrival and warm up times: North Forke needs to report at 4:45 pm.
- Doors to the pool deck will open up at 4:45 PM
- North Forke Barracudas: 5:00 pm - 5:15 pm - This is super tight to get the kids warmed up. DO NOT BE LATE!
- Eastmont Cove Olympians: 5:15 pm - 5:30 pm
- YMCA Dolphins 5:30 pm - 5:45 pm
- volunteer meeting 5:35 pm - All timers and stroke and turn officials need to attend this meeting. All volunteers should check in with our parent board prior to 5:30 pm.

Due to unexpected outdoor pool issues, this meet will be held in our indoor pool.
Parking & Arrival Information:
Please review the parking and entrance directions carefully before arriving.
Once you pull into the facility, continue all the way down to the stop sign and take a right. We are asking all swim team participants and spectators to park in the lower parking lots, as our facility will remain open to members and summer camp pick-up will be happening at the same time.
If you need to park closer to the building, please be mindful of families and guests who may require those closer parking spaces.
We encourage everyone to park in the areas highlighted by the red square on the map provided.
Indoor Pool Entrance:
To enter the indoor pool area, please follow the green line on the map provided. Swim team families and spectators will NOT enter through the main front doors of the building.
You may walk toward the front entrance and take the sidewalk located to the left of the front doors. Continue down the sidewalk until you reach the swim team check-in table.
All swim team spectators and parents must check in at the table before entering.
Seating Information:
We encourage families to bring chairs, as seating inside the indoor pool area is limited.
We will have pool deck doors open leading to the grassy outdoor area, and families are welcome to sit outside and come in when their swimmer is competing. Again, we are the largest team, so we really need to be respectful of the other teams and allocate only 1/3 of the seating space for our team. Outdoor seating is available, and should be utilized mostly by our team parents.
Bathroom Policy: This is non negotiable.
• Swimmers ages 17 and younger must use the youth bathrooms.
• Adults older than 18 must use the adult bathrooms.
• Family restrooms will also be available.
Concessions:
A concession stand will be available throughout the meet. Please note that concessions will be cash only.
Items available will include:
• Hot dogs
• Pizza
• Drinks
• Chips
• Candy
Inclement Weather Procedures:
Although the meet is indoors, if inclement weather occurs during the meet, we are still required to clear the pool deck.
If this happens, we ask that families and swimmers do not leave the facility. Instead, please return to your vehicles and wait for communication from meet officials regarding when we may resume. Our team communication will come via the Remind App. Please note that several parents have reached out regarding not receiving messages. Remind no longer sends text messages. Please ensure that your notifications are enabled on your app.
