FAQS for Practice

Q: When is practice?

  • Click here for the page on practice times located under the "meets and practices" tab.

Q: Is it ok to miss practice?

  • Yes. Although we encourage you to make every practice we are aware of obligations during the summer. You do not have to report if you are going to miss an occasional practice, however, we do ask that you tell the coach when you are going to be out an extended time (vacations).

Q: Do Parents need to stay during a practice?

  • All 10 and under parents should stay or have another parent responsible for your swimmer. Once your child is proficient in swimming, you may feel comfortable leaving. All parents must be back before practice is over or have another parent in charge of your swimmer. Practices are back to back and coaches will be focused on the next group in the water. We do not want swimmers running around the parking lot / common areas unsupervised.

Q: Is there practice in the rain?

  • As long as there is no thunder or lighting, we will practice.

Q: Can my younger child or older child play in the pool during practice?

  • No. Please keep all children who are not involved with the current session out of the pool. It does not matter if we are only using one end or a lane is open. No one is allowed in the pool.

Q: When is a good time to talk to the coach?

  • Please refrain from discussions with coaches during practice sessions. We do plan on placing a "coaches folder" at the pool where you could drop a note inside and allow the coach to address your question or concern. Coach Mark's email will also be provided to everyone.
  • Our goal is to make practice fun and create a great learning environment. Our swimmers really get the benefit of good coaching with lots of instruction in a small group. Most teams are not like this. Please talk to your swimmer about listening and being respectful. We do not want to waste time having to discipline instead of teaching.
