Meet #5 at Waterton
Meet Five - Last meet of the season!
Away at Waterton
The address listed with GCSL is 1235 Lakeridge Court, Grayson. Please arrive between 4:30 and 4:45. The pool deck will not be available until 4:30, so please do not try to set up any earlier. Our warmup is at 4:50! Please have your swimmer ready to swim and marked up by then.
Here is some very important information from our hosts:
Meet Theme:
Eras/Decade β for our Taylor Swift fans, we are celebrating her Eras tour! For our more traditional folks, we are doing a decadeβs night! We would love to have you guys join us in the fun!
Senior Night:
We will be having our senior night celebration at the end of the meet, you all are welcome to help us by cheering our guys on as they do a coaches vs swimmers race!
Timeline for our meet:
Pool deck opens at 4:30 PM to set up chairs/spectators.
Barracudas arrive by 4:50 PM, warm up starting around 5:05 PM.
Pool is cleared for Waterton warm up at 5:30 PM.
We tend to have a S&T judge & starter meeting at 5:40 with a timers meeting and check in at 5:45. Please ensure timers bring their own stop watches, we have extras but not enough for everyone.
Weather Delay:
The forecast looks to be sunny, but in the case of a delay we ask all swimmers and families to return to their cars. We follow protocol for what events to move through from the league in case of an extended delay and will push as much as possible to finish out the meet since it is a Friday, and we all want a weekend to rest.
Facility Layout:
Your team will be seated on the far side of the pool against the tree line, with your bullpen area being right outside of the gate in the grass area. The grass area is also open for chairs and spectators.
Bathrooms are inside the gate along with the concession stand.
Staging area will be along the diving well side of the pool behind the blocks, your team's volunteers will walk your bullpen over to staging, we recommend 2 events ahead to ensure we are moving at a good pace.
We ask that parents refrain from hanging out around and behind timers unless they are actively watching a race, we want to make sure both ends of the pool stay as traffic free as possible.
Parking:
Our parking lot is small and is first come first serve. As you pull into the neighborhood on Shoreline Trace, you will see no parking signs on the right side of the street along that road and Lakeridge court. Please adhere to only parking on the left side of the street to allow traffic flow in the neighborhood to continue as well as in the case of an emergency it leaves a clear path for emergency vehicles.
Concession Stand:
Concession stand menu is in the heat sheet
Volunteers:
Please have stroke & turn judges check in at the appropriate times stated above at the starter's table. Jamie Sanford and Courtney Kuhl will be there to help guide them.
Once you have gathered your volunteers for other stations, please check in with our volunteer coordinator, Tiffany Harper, to ensure all spots are taken care of. She will be the blonde lady with the volunteer coordinator clipboard running around
. Gabe Shababy will host the timerβs meeting in the computer room (by the restrooms) at 5:45.
Entries and heat sheets are attached to this email. Heat sheets will also be available on the app. It is very important that all swimmers stay in the team area unless they are staging for a race. They will be called in the team area only. If you have young swimmers, please plan to stay with them in the team area. Parents, please remind your swimmers that there is no horseplay allowed in the team area. If you swimmers are behaving in a way that could cause injury to themselves or others, you will be asked to sit with them in the team area.
Please check the volunteer schedule attached to this email. All volunteers please check in upon arrival. That includes first and second half workers. We appreciate your time and dedication to our team.
Please make sure you are subscribed to our team Remind. To do so, simply text @nfswimteam to 81010. Please remember, it is used for announcements only. Do not attempt to message the team through the app.
In the event of a weather delay, you will be asked to go to your car to wait it out. Please DO NOT leave the meet. We will make every effort to complete the meet, and have a specific protocol to follow from the league. We will keep you informed via Remind.
Fun practice will be on Friday at 10:00. We will give out ribbons, eat donuts, and have lots of fun with teammates and coaches. We hope you will all join us for this popular practice.
If you would like to contribute to the coaches gifts, please see one of us at the meet. Well, not Amy...send her well wishes as she will be recovering from surgery. We will miss you, Amy!
We look forward to seeing you at the meet!
Adrienne, Amy, and Tim
