Important Swim Team Information

Barracudas,

We're off to a great start for the 2023 season!  The coaches are proud of how hard the swimmers are working to improve their strokes and get ready for our first meet.  In preparation for that big event, here are some things we need for you to do.

1. Go to the website and click on each of the scheduled meets to declare your swimmer's availability.  If you will be out of town, or otherwise unavailable for a meet, please let us know now.  Simply click on the meet and you will see a green button on the right to use to make your declaration.  Make a declaration for each meet. Please do this no later than Friday, May 19 at 10 pm.  We will begin making entries for the first meet and will finalize the volunteer schedule the next day.

2. Familiarize yourself with the practice guidelines and meet information on the website.  There is a wealth of tips and tricks available for you to make the swim events a bit easier to navigate.  If you have any questions after reading the posted information, please let us know.  Email is the best way to contact us.

3. Subscribe to the team Remind!  Subscribe by texting @nfswimteam to 81010. This is how we communicate important, timely information to you. We will try to send an email when we have time, but Remind will be the primary source of important messages regarding weather related delays, or other timely information.  Please do not send messages to the Remind account.  They won't be answered due to our limited availability outside of swim team hours.

4. Assume practice and meets are happening as scheduled unless you receive a message informing you otherwise. Sometimes the weather at home is terrible, but it's beautiful at the pool!  We will do our best to make decisions as early as possible and get information to you so that you can plan accordingly.

5. When at a meet where we encounter a weather delay, DO NOT leave the meet unless the team is officially dismissed by our team coaches.

If you are interested in being certified as a Stroke and Turn Judge, or training to work in the team computer room, please email us and we will get the training information to you.  These jobs are best for seasoned swim parents who have a solid understanding of competitive swimming and meet operations. We are always looking for new recruits to bring on board for these exciting jobs!

We will send out frequent emails over the next week or two with information about things like picture day and our first meet.  Please watch for those so you will be prepared for all of the excitement we have coming up!

There is still a little time to register to swim.  Tell your friends to head to the website and click the Register button.  When the button goes away, registration is closed.  Spread the word!

Each of the team emails are posted to the News section of the website.  You can catch up on any information you may have missed there.

We look forward to seeing you at the pool.
